Permanent Reprographics Operator

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Reprographics Operator to join one of Amey’s most successful and high-profile contracts, delivering secure document services to a major UK Central Government department in Whitehall, London.

Salary: £31,000.00 + DV allowance

Hours of Work: 37.5 Per Week. You will be required to work rotating weekly shifts of 8am-4pm & 10am-6pm Mon-Fri.

Join our vibrant, inclusive community within Amey Complex Facilities, working in the Document Services department, Ministry of Defence, Main Building. The department provides a vital role in producing materials to assist UK Defence in its strategic operations at home and abroad.

Working closely with the Department Manager and Reprographics Supervisor, the Reprographics Operator will play a crucial role in delivering high-end print outputs for all building stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing everyday print and finishing tasks, maintaining workflow efficiency, and providing exceptional customer service.

What you will do:

  • Produce high-quality print outputs that adhere to client guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Execute an array of finishing methods, demonstrating proficiency in laminating, bookbinding, folding, padding, and scanning.
  • Manage wide-format print tasks, efficiently utilising automated cutting devices and production software.
  • Digitise client hardcopies, accurately scanning and archiving documents into specified digital formats.
  • Follow print room workflows diligently, taking day-to-day direction from the Reprographics Supervisor to meet client deadlines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, managing face-to-face interactions.
  • Uphold workplace safety by adhering to robust company H&S procedures and maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Maintain operational flexibility by working rotating weekly shifts (Monday to Friday, alternating between 08:00–16:00 and 10:00–18:00).

What you will bring:

  • Essential experience working in a similar reprographics, digital print, or print finishing role.
  • Strong software proficiency, with competence in Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook).
  • Technical familiarity with print production software, including an understanding of Fiery and Onyx RIP workflow systems.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude for performing basic printer maintenance and routine fault finding.
  • Good IT literacy, featuring a basic understanding of IT troubleshooting.
  • A quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across high-volume print runs.
