Role purpose
The key purpose of the Research Analyst role is to transform research and data into actionable insights that support business decision-making across Vicinity. This role is responsible for collecting, analysing and interpreting information from a range of sources to understand consumers, retailers and market trends.
The Research Analyst supports the delivery of market research and Voice of Customer programs, helping to identify opportunities, answer business questions and generate meaningful insights. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the role delivers clear reporting, manages projects effectively and supports evidence-based decision-making. Success in this role requires strong organisation, curiosity and ownership.
Key Accountabilities
Research & Insights
- Design and deliver market research and Voice of Customer programs using quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
- Analyse research, data and feedback to identify trends, barriers and opportunities.
- Translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations that inform business decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the business to understand priorities, challenges and information needs.
- Gather perspectives from consumers, retailers and other stakeholders to broaden understanding and inform research.
- Communicate insights through clear, engaging and audience-appropriate reporting and presentations.
Project Delivery & Development
- Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Maintain strong governance practices, including documentation, quality assurance and proactive risk management.
- Continuously build capability by exploring new tools, research methods and approaches to solving business problems.

Experience & Capabilities
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE (what you have done)
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Research, Statistics, Psychology or a related discipline.
- Delivered research, insights or analytics projects from design through to reporting.
- Applied quantitative and/or qualitative approaches to answer business questions.
- Developed reports, presentations and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Market research agency, behavioural research, or consulting experience highly regarded.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE (what you need to know)
- Ability to conduct robust, accurate and reliable research processes.
- Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Ability to develop questionnaires/discussion guides and generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of consumer, retailer and stakeholder behaviours, needs and motivations.
- Ability to learn and apply new tools, technologies and approaches to support insight generation and decision-making.
