About DG Cities
At DG Cities, we help our clients harness the power of technology, innovative approaches, and data to transform our towns and cities, with a practical approach that puts a place and its people first. We work with government, public sector bodies, and some of the UK’s leading innovation companies to achieve our goal of using innovation to help tackle some of the biggest challenges facing us today, including sustainability, inclusion, healthier neighbourhoods, and the climate emergency.
We believe that data and technology solutions are only effective if they support positive behaviour and system change that brings benefits to as many people as possible. Research and evaluation are key to making decisions about what works, how to innovate, and where best to have the greatest impact with intervention and investment.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Graduate Research Analyst / Research Analyst to support our Research and Insights and Net Zero innovation practices. Reporting to the Principal Researcher and Behavioural Economist, you'll work across the company's projects and services to deliver high-quality research and data analysis to support our clients in understanding the impact of their innovation – whether that’s new technologies such as energy sensors and self-driving cars, or policies to help the public recycle more or for communities to connect.
About you
We’re looking for someone looking to grow their skills in qualitative research, data analysis, impact assessment, and evaluation, with an interest in working on diverse projects with different stakeholders. You don’t need years of experience to join us – we’re keen to speak to passionate people with an eye for detail who are happy to explore topics, data, and create interesting and engaging analyses and visualisations. If you’re interested in mixed-methods research (quantitative and qualitative approaches) and looking at challenges from different angles - such as the individual, social, place-based, economic, or system-levels - we’d love to hear from you!
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
