Description & Requirements

Be part of something great

Maximus is a global organisation that specialises in providing health and employment services to millions of people every year. Here in the UK we employ around 5,000 people across the country to deliver services that have a profound impact on people’s lives. From assessments and health services to employability programmes and specialist support, we do work that matters with people who care.

Every year Maximus supports millions of people through our delivery of innovative and high-performing services. We are looking for a Research and Strategic Insights Lead to help us shape the services of the future, inform commissioners and support innovation across our sectors.

Working at the intersection of delivery data, policy insight and communications, the role will use complex quantitative and qualitative data from across our business to develop clear, credible insights that support policy positions, inform stakeholder engagement and underpin thought leadership.

The postholder will collaborate closely with policy, communications, BI and operational colleagues to ensure that Maximus UK’s external engagement and positioning with government, commissioners and partners is evidence-based and outcomes-focused.

We are looking for someone with a track record of developing compelling, data-based insights in an engaging and compelling way, tailoring these for different audiences and identifying themes and trends aligned to the policy landscape.

Accountabilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse programme, operational and external datasets to generate insight that supports policy development, consultation responses and commissioner engagement.
  • Apply exploratory data analysis, statistical modelling and predictive techniques to understand trends, outcomes and impact across employment, health and public services.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences, including ministers, officials, commissioners, partners and the media.
  • Support the synthesis of evaluation findings, research outputs and performance data into accessible insight for policy, communications and stakeholder use.
  • Advise colleagues on how data can add value to engagement strategies, policy positioning and evidence-based influencing.
  • Ensure all analysis adheres to data ethics, transparency and privacy standards, including GDPR and public-sector expectations.
  • Draft thought leadership content and articles as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
