Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in translational immunobiology? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented researcher to undertake a lab-based project focused on the characterisation of novel monoclonal antibodies being developed by our industrial partner. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry, applying a range of immuno-biochemical, cell biological, and molecular biology techniques (such as protein characterisation, cell-based assays, and recombinant expression systems) to evaluate antibody function, specificity, and mechanism of action. You will be an integral member of a collaborative research team, responsible for generating, analysing, and interpreting experimental data, and contributing to regular discussions with both internal colleagues and external partners. The ideal candidate will have strong practical laboratory experience, a rigorous and organised approach to experimental work, and the ability to communicate complex data clearly. This position is well suited to someone who is enthusiastic about translational research and keen to contribute to impactful, partnership-driven science.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
