Note: Sapiente Education is headquartered in the UAE. This is a fully remote role, and applicants may be based outside our primary location, provided they can maintain partial overlap with Dubai (UAE) working hours.

About the Role

We are seeking a Research Assistant to support the delivery of our Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science programmes.

This role centres on supporting students in developing structured research projects, with the potential for high-level academic outputs. You will work alongside a senior mentor to guide students through the research process, from early-stage exploration to final written work.

This position requires strong technical foundations, intellectual rigour, and the ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in developing research projects in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science
  • Assist with literature review, research direction, and project structuring
  • Support scientific analysis, interpretation of findings, and evidence-based reasoning
  • Guide students in implementing models (e.g. neural networks, machine learning pipelines)
  • Support Python-based work (including frameworks such as PyTorch)
  • Review drafts of research papers and provide clear, structured feedback
  • Suggest improvements in methodology, clarity, and academic rigour
  • Guide students on referencing, citations, and academic standards
  • Introduce tools such as LaTeX and Overleaf where appropriate

Required (Skills & Capabilities)

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s or early-stage PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong technical background in machine learning, programming, or related areas
  • Familiarity with academic literature review and scientific research methodologies
  • Experience supporting or contributing to research projects, publications, or laboratory work
  • Ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly to students aged 13–23
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong judgement, professionalism, and attention to detail
