Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance with possible extension.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the general area of wearable sensing systems for the head, wearable signal processing and sensing data machine learning to join the Mobile Systems Research Laboratory at the University of Cambridge.
The main responsibilities for this position are to innovate on wearable sensing for the head, devise new machine learning paradigms for robust in-the-wild analytics targeting health and fitness applications with special emphasis of translating the research into practice. We are seeking candidates with a background in wearable and (bio)sensing systems, possibly with experience in advanced wearable sensor data machine learning.
Requirements
Candidates should have been awarded a PhD or be close to one and a research record in wearable sensing systems with specific focus on the head. Experience with current sensor data machine learning modelling also very appreciated. The ideal candidates should also have excellent programming skills. Good communication, presentation and management skills are also desirable given the size of the team. Experience in industry and industrial research also welcome.

Appointment at the Research Associate level is dependent on the award of a PhD. This is a postdoctoral-level appointment, those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at the Research Assistant -Grade 5, which will be amended to Research Associate-Grade 7 once the award of the PhD has been conferred.
