Faculty
The Institute of Cancer Therapeutics (ICT), within the Institute of Health and Social Care, has over 30 years of internationally recognised expertise in cancer pharmacology, drug discovery and translational research. What You Will Be Doing
- Evaluate novel hypoxia-selective therapeutics using 2D and 3D cancer models, including in combination with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
- Investigate mechanisms of action and therapeutic response using molecular and cellular biology, flow cytometry and gene-editing approaches.
- Support translational drug development through LC-MS-based studies of drug activation, stability and pharmacokinetics, alongside data analysis and dissemination of findings.
Qualifications/ Experience
MSc or PhD (with equivalent research experience) in cancer biology, pharmacology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline.
Experience, Skills And Knowledge
- Practical experience of laboratory-based research in cancer biology, pharmacology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences or a related discipline.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and in vitro biological assays.
- Experience of designing, conducting and analysing laboratory experiments and interpreting scientific data.
