Research Associate

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Associate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a client-facing MVP prototype for the GreenAVM project. The post holder will work with the PI, Dr Yishuang Xu, in the School of Environment, Education and Development, and Co-I, Dr Khashayar Kazemzadeh, to develop a working prototype that wraps the existing GreenAVM model into a client-facing web application.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop a web-based application (front-end and back-end) wrapping the existing AutoGluon valuation model for client-facing demonstrations
  • Integrate public data feeds (Land Registry, EPC Register) into the application to enable live or near-live property valuations
  • Implement SHAP-based explainability visualisations so that valuation outputs are interpretable by non-technical users
  • Deploy the prototype to a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure) and ensure it is accessible for stakeholder demonstrations
  • Document the technical architecture, codebase, data pipelines, and deployment configuration, and provide a structured technical handover to support future development

We welcome candidates who bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and approaches to their work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
