Research Associate - Impact

To help achieve our REF2029 ambitions, we're looking for a Research Associate - Impact to play a key role in evidencing and enhancing the impact of research across Cardiff Met. Through gathering and analysing data, conducting targeted research activities and working collaboratively with academics and stakeholders, you'll help demonstrate the economic, social and cultural benefits of our research, supporting the development of compelling impact outcomes and case studies.

This is a fixed term position until 31/08/2029, however casual contract opportunities may also be available.

What You’ll Bring

You'll bring experience of working within an academic research environment, alongside a strong understanding of research methods, data collection techniques, and the accurate management of research data. A confident communicator, you'll be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, presenting information clearly through both written and verbal channels. You'll also be highly organised, with the ability to work independently, use your initiative, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines, all while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
