Salary on appointment will be £31,236 per annum pro rata, with an annual increment up to £37,694 per annum pro rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate to join Norwich Medical School to support a programme of research aiming to improve the long-term management of obesity, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
Within this programme of research, we will be conducting studies which aim to understand the impacts of privately funded obesity treatment (such as obesity management medications and metabolic bariatric surgery).
You will work on these mixed methods studies to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues, impacts and inequalities associated with private obesity treatments from the perspectives of key stakeholders and explore how care could be improved.

As a Research Associate you will:
- Contribute to the research programme
- Help with recruitment, consent, data collection, data analysis and interpretation
- Write up results
- Present information on research progress and outcomes
Requirements:
- Relevant graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience
- Ability to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret data
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and previous research experience would be advantageous
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available from 1 September 2026 on a fixed term basis for 31 months.
