THE OPPORTUNITY
Asia and the Middle East are where the world's private wealth is growing fastest. Hong Kong and Dubai are the two epicentres of it, and Hubbis has been at the heart of this industry for seventeen years. We are looking for two exceptional people at the start of their careers - one in Hong Kong, one in Dubai - to join us as Research & Business Development Associates.
This is not an ordinary junior job. You will spend your first year becoming genuinely expert in an industry most people your age have never heard of, and one that very few people ever get access to. You will map the private banks, the family offices, the asset managers and the advisers who look after the wealthiest families on earth. You will learn who runs them, where they are growing and what they care about. You will turn that knowledge into the events, the intelligence and the conversations that drive our business.
And within twelve months you will be in the room with the people who run this industry, not reading about them.
We are growing quickly in both Hong Kong and Dubai. The person who does this job well will grow with us.
WHO WE ARE
Hubbis is Asia's leading specialist platform for the private wealth management industry - independent, multi-generational, and on the ground in every market that matters.
We operate across Greater China, Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East, with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and the UAE, and activity in mainland China, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.
Our work is organised around five pillars: Investments; Wealth Planning and HNW Insurance; Compliance and Regulation; Digitisation, Technology and AI; and Digital Assets.

WHY THIS IS A REMARKABLE PLACE TO START A CAREER
- You will learn an industry, not a task. Most roles at this level teach you one narrow function inside a large organisation. This role teaches you an entire market: who is in it, how it makes money, who the leaders are and where it is going. That knowledge is genuinely valuable, and it travels with you for the rest of your career.
- You will have access that most people never get. Our events put chief executives, heads of private banking and family office principals in a room together. You will be at those events, and you will meet those people. Very few people this early in a career get that exposure anywhere.
- You will be visible from day one. We are a small, senior, international team with a flat structure. There is no layer of management between a good idea and the person who can approve it. Good work is noticed immediately, and the person who does it gets more of it.
- You will grow as we grow. We are expanding in both Hong Kong and Dubai. We promote from within, and we would far rather build the next generation of this team than hire it in. The path from this role into a full business development, content or event leadership position is short, and it is entirely on merit.
- You will earn on what you help create. Beyond your base salary you will earn commission on business you help to generate, and an annual performance bonus. This is not a role where effort and results go unrewarded.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

THE ROLE
You will sit at the point where research, marketing and business development meet. Everything Hubbis does - an event, a publication, a partnership, a training licence - begins with knowing exactly who is out there, what they care about and what they are already doing. That is your job.
Market and industry research
- Research the private wealth and asset management industry across your region: private banks, external asset managers, family offices, insurers, asset managers, law firms, trust companies and technology providers
- Identify the firms we do not yet know, and the people we should be speaking to inside the firms we do
- Build clear profiles of target organisations - what they do, who leads them, where they are growing and what they have publicly said
- Track industry news, senior appointments, regulatory change and market developments, and flag what matters to the team
Database and market intelligence
- Own the accuracy and the growth of the Hubbis contact database for your region: researching, verifying, adding and coding new firms and individuals
- Turn a raw list of names into a segmented, usable picture of a market
- Produce clean, well organised research that colleagues can act on immediately
Competitor and market benchmarking
- Monitor competitor events, publications, newsletters and digital output
- Report on what they are doing well, what they are charging, who is sponsoring them and where the gaps are
- Help us answer the question we ask constantly: is this good enough, and are we competitive?
Marketing
- Support the promotion of our events and content: audience targeting, invitation lists, campaign copy, LinkedIn and newsletter content
- Help segment our audience into distinct communities - investments, wealth planning, HNW insurance, digital assets, AI and digitisation, compliance, and next generation
- Track what works: open rates, registrations, engagement, and what that tells us to do next
Business development
- Prepare the research briefs and background packs that sit behind client meetings and proposals
- Build target lists for sponsorship and partnership outreach
- Support proposal preparation and follow up
- Attend our forums and roundtables, meet clients and delegates, and take on your own conversations as you grow into the role
YOUR FIRST TWELVE MONTHS
- Months 1 to 3 - learn the industry. Who the players are, how private wealth actually works, what our clients buy and why. You begin with research and database work, and you get quick, direct and honest feedback on everything you produce.
- Months 4 to 6 - own a market. You are producing the competitor benchmarking and the target lists that the team relies on. Your work is visibly shaping which events we run, who we invite and who we approach.
- Months 7 to 12 - get in the room. You are attending our forums and roundtables, meeting clients, contributing to proposals and pitching ideas of your own. For the right person, this is the point at which the role starts to become whatever you are best at.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- A graduate in any discipline. You may be graduating this year, you may have finished recently, or you may already be a year or two into your first job. We care far more about how you think than about what you studied, or how long you have been working.
- Genuine curiosity. The instinct to look something up, check a second source and ask the obvious follow up question.
- Strong written English: clear, concise and accurate.
- Real attention to detail. In this role, a misspelled name or a wrong job title is a serious problem.
- Confidence with research tools, LinkedIn, spreadsheets and databases, and a willingness to use AI tools intelligently and carefully rather than blindly.
- Self direction. We give people a brief and a deadline, not supervision.
- Professionalism and composure when dealing with senior people.
- The right to work in Hong Kong or the United Arab Emirates, or eligibility for us to sponsor an employment visa.
Desirable
- An interest in finance, wealth management, investment or business journalism
- A second language relevant to the region: Cantonese or Mandarin for Hong Kong, Arabic or Hindi for Dubai
- Any experience of research, journalism, marketing, CRM systems or events, whether from a first job, an internship or a university society
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. What matters to us is the quality of your thinking and your commitment to the region.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A competitive base salary: AED 10,500 to AED 12,000 per month in Dubai (AED 126,000 to AED 144,000 per annum).
- Commission on business you help to generate
- An annual performance bonus
- Visa and relocation covered. We sponsor and pay for your work visa, and cover reasonable relocation costs.
- Direct access to the industry. You will work alongside the senior team and progressively meet leaders from across the private wealth industry.
- Travel across the region to our forums, roundtables and bespoke events
- Structured professional development, including practical training in AI and research tools, and access to our accredited industry training platform
- A flat structure with no bureaucracy. Good ideas are heard and acted on quickly.
- A genuine career path in a business that is growing in both Hong Kong and Dubai, and that promotes from within
We welcome applications from candidates anywhere in the world.
