Mixed-Methods Delivery Researcher

Word On The Curb | Hybrid — Liverpool Street, London | Full-time | 4 Days a Week | 32.5k | Pro-Rata

About Word On The Curb

We're a youth culture agency and media publisher, built on genuine proximity to how young people actually live. Our combined social presence is approaching 400,000, a culturally fluent, highly engaged audience, sitting alongside a live, responsive panel we can activate fast.

We work globally, delivering insight and creative for names including Adobe, Pepsi, Virgin Media, Channel 4.0, Old Navy, RFU, Open University, NHS Blood and Transplant, Pinterest, Just Eat, and O2.

At the centre of it is Curbsuite — our productised research suite which has 4 different methodologies that solve different problems.

  • VibeCheck+ — asynchronous, multi-modal qualitative. 20-40 participants from a specific subculture respond over 5-7 days via video, voice note, text and photo. Screener, discussion guide, synthesis, write-up. The product you'll own.
  • PulseCheck — quantitative, n=550-2,000+. Questionnaire design, fieldwork, analysis, reporting. The other product you'll own.
  • CrossCheck — live moderated focus groups for creative and concept testing.
  • SenseCheck — live, moderated co-creation sessions.

You'll be closest to VibeCheck+ and PulseCheck day to day, with growing exposure across CrossCheck and SenseCheck as the team scales.

The role

We're hiring a Mixed-Methods Delivery Researcher to own delivery of VibeCheck+ and PulseCheck studies, with real scope to support senior researchers on bespoke work. This is a hands on, delivery-first role — you'll be writing screeners on Monday and analysing survey data on Wednesday. We're a small, fast-moving team, and this role will genuinely grow: as we scale, you'll get exposure across the full Curbsuite range, not just the two core products.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

VibeCheck+ delivery (primary)

VibeCheck+ is our subculture studio — a 5-7 day turnaround study capturing multimedia responses (video, text, voice note, photo) from people within a specific community. You'll own:

  • Writing screeners and screening participants to the right specificity
  • Writing sharp discussion guides, prompts and questions that actually get people talking
  • Monitoring responses as they come in across video, text, voice note and photo
  • Synthesising and analysing what comes back into genuinely useful findings
  • Writing clear, commercially useful debriefs — not just a summary of what was said

PulseCheck delivery

Our quantitative studies, run at scale. You'll support and increasingly own:

  • Questionnaire design and scripting
  • Monitoring fieldwork and data quality
  • Cleaning and analysing survey data
  • Drafting findings & strategic debrief decks with clear headline stats and real implications

Bespoke insight support, and flexing where the team needs you

You'll support senior researchers on bespoke projects e.g. session planning, capturing key themes and quotes, drafting sections of client outputs, and supporting recommendations. As a small, growing team, there'll also be moments, especially early on, where you're expected to run closer to end to end, including elements of participant recruitment, before our panel and account support fully scales. We'll support you here as much as we can, but we want to be upfront about it rather than pretend the role is more narrowly scoped than it is.

What we're looking for

  • Genuine mixed methods experience — comfortable moderating/analysing qualitative work and delivering quantitative surveys
  • A strong writer with excellent judgement, able to write sharp screeners and discussion guides
  • Comfortable synthesising messy, multi-format input (video, text, voice note, photo) into something genuinely useful
  • Culturally fluent with young audiences — able to tell what's actually significant from what to pay less attention to
  • Deadline led and organised — VibeCheck+ runs on a tight 5-7 day turnaround, every time
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and happy to pitch in beyond a fixed job spec, especially early on
  • Collaborative and coachable

What success looks like

  • VibeCheck+ and PulseCheck studies delivered on time, within our turnaround windows
  • Screeners and discussion guides need minimal senior rework
  • Client ready debriefs are sharp and commercially useful, not just descriptive
  • Growing exposure across CrossCheck and SenseCheck as the team scales
  • Growing autonomy on bespoke support work as trust and track record build
