Your Team Responsibilities

Does the quote: “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” resonate to the very depths of your soul? If so, keep reading. At their core, the Research Content Writer/Editor must be a very strong, versatile writer who can take complicated ideas and simplify them into an easy to digest, engaging manner and repurpose these ideas to suit multiple audiences and formats. He, she or they will be responsible for collaborating with colleagues in product management, research, coverage and the broader marketing team, including design, digital and multi-media. With a client-centric, digital-first mindset, this person will be asked to advise on content strategy and help plan and maintain a content calendar that serves the needs of our audiences while building MSCI’s thought leadership brand across market segments, channels and platforms.

Experience creating content in the financial services/investment industry and capable of understanding key media, marketplace and content marketing trends, this person will be adept at working with academically minded researchers to present complex information in a way that is engaging and accessible — and fit for a variety of purposes. Materials will include content for company websites, blog posts, social media, video and podcasts that deliver research insights, and the value of the firm as a whole, in a stand-out, compelling manner. The Content Writer/Editor works as part of the Research Content team, which sits within the broader Communications team to allow for efficient collaboration with External and Internal Communications.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Writing and editing accurate, clear, clean and highly readable content quickly and efficiently
  • Breaking down topics in institutional investing and risk management (including ESG and Climate, factors and a broad spectrum of asset classes) into a series of materials that can be consumed easily across formats
  • Mapping out plans, in collaboration with a global team of subject-matter experts, for the creation and delivery of materials
  • Drawing on data from MSCI and others to render materials, charts and other ways of expressing analysis
  • Enforcing and adhering to established style guides (e.g., MSCI's in-house style and brand guidelines, AP Stylebook) to ensure editorial clarity and quality
  • Comfortable managing one's own work, meeting deadlines and collaborating proactively with stakeholders and subject-matter experts; knowing when to lead and when to heed others’ counsel

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
