Job Description

Energis is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company for an R&D Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work, solving technical problems, developing new products, and seeing ideas progress from concept through to production. Working as part of a collaborative development team, you'll support research and development projects, carry out product testing, contribute to new product introductions, and help improve existing products.

Whether you have gained your experience through an industrial placement or in an engineering role after graduation, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within an innovative manufacturing business.

The Role

As An R&D Engineer, You Will

  • Support research and development projects from concept through to production.
  • Carry out performance testing and validation of new and existing products in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to develop new products and enhance existing product ranges.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring products transition smoothly into manufacture.
  • Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support production.
  • Liaise with suppliers to assist with material selection and component performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of development, prototyping, and testing activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support across engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and product innovation initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
