A global technology company is seeking Research Engineers to help advance foundational machine learning and large‑scale AI systems. The team focuses on pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence through deep research, high‑performance infrastructure, and scalable model development. Successful candidates will contribute to cutting‑edge work that accelerates progress toward human‑level intelligence.

  • Location: London, Hybrid
  • Contract length: 1 year

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced ML systems research to drive breakthroughs in large‑scale AI.
  • Design methods and infrastructure that improve the performance and reliability of large language models.
  • Collaborate with researchers and cross‑functional partners to define research plans, communicate progress, and deliver results.
  • Gather and synthesize technical requirements to build an effective feature roadmap.
  • Develop production‑ready code alongside engineering teams.
  • Publish research findings and contribute to work that shapes future AI capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, or artificial intelligence.
  • Experience developing ML models at scale, including programmatic LLM interaction and post‑training workflows.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch.
  • Proven ability to run complex experiments involving large models and datasets.
  • Demonstrated skill in translating technical insights into business recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
