Research Engineer | DeepTech Start Up

If you're motivated by solving complex technical problems, enjoy turning research into real-world capability and want to work on technology at the forefront of robotics and autonomous systems, we'd love to speak with you.

We're building a next-generation software platform that enables robotics, sensors and autonomous systems to work seamlessly together in demanding environments. This is an opportunity to bridge cutting-edge research with production software, helping shape technology that has a tangible impact.

Why join us?

  • Work on meaningful technical challenges. You'll tackle complex problems across robotics, autonomy and distributed systems, taking ideas from concept through to deployment.

  • Research that makes it into production. Your work won't stay in a paper or prototype. You'll collaborate closely with software engineers to deliver solutions that are used in the real world.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How we work

We're building a collaborative, in-person engineering culture, so we're looking for people who enjoy working closely with their teammates. You'll be happy spending time in the office and travelling locally to customer sites when needed.

Eligibility

Due to the nature of our work, you'll need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance, which generally means you've lived in the UK continuously for the last five years. Unfortunately, we can't offer visa sponsorship for this role.

If you're excited by the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, solve genuinely hard problems and see your research deployed in the real world, we'd love to hear from you.
