Research Executive
You'll join our Public Sector & Charities team, working on research that helps government departments, charities, academics, and NGOs understand public attitudes and make informed decisions. You'll contribute to projects from questionnaire design and data analysis through to reporting and presenting findings to clients, working across a wide variety of social and public-policy topics.
Depending on your experience, you'll manage some projects independently and work alongside senior researchers on larger or more complex studies. We're looking for someone who combines strong quantitative and communication skills with curiosity, initiative, and excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Manage research projects from start to finish, with support from senior colleagues, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard.
- Help design questionnaires and surveys, translating clients' research objectives into clear, unbiased, and effective questions.
- Analyse and interpret quantitative data, identifying the findings and insights that explain why the results matter.
- Work directly with clients and colleagues throughout projects, communicating clearly and ensuring the research meets the brief.
- Take ownership of the quality of your work, proactively checking outputs, spotting potential issues, and finding solutions.
- Contribute positively to the wider team, building strong working relationships and supporting colleagues where needed.
Behavioural Competencies
- Strong critical thinking and curiosity: you enjoy interrogating information, spotting inconsistencies, and working out what findings really mean.
- Initiative and ownership: you're comfortable getting started independently, anticipating what needs to happen next, and finding solutions to problems.
- Excellent attention to detail: you check your own work carefully and care about getting things right.
- Strong organisation: you can manage competing tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate early when something needs attention.
- Clear communication: you can explain ideas and findings accurately and simply, both in writing and verbally.
- Confidence with numbers: you're comfortable working with quantitative information and are interested in developing your research skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
