Role Description
The Research Fellow will contribute to the design, execution, and dissemination of high-quality research projects within their appointed discipline. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting independent and collaborative research
- Collecting and analyzing data
- Reviewing relevant literature
- Preparing research outputs such as journal articles, conference presentations, and reports

The role involves working closely with academic colleagues, supporting grant applications, and contributing to the supervision and mentoring of students or junior researchers as appropriate. The Research Fellow will also engage in seminars, workshops, and academic networks that enhance the visibility and impact of the research. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, requiring regular presence on campus to collaborate with colleagues and utilize university facilities.

Qualifications
- Relevant doctoral degree (or near completion) in a discipline aligned with the research area, with a strong record of research achievement.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting rigorous research studies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality academic writing, such as peer-reviewed publications, reports, and conference papers.
- Strong skills in research methodologies and relevant analytical tools or software (e.g., statistical packages, qualitative analysis tools, or domain-specific technologies).
- Effective communication skills, including presenting research findings clearly to academic and non-academic audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a supportive, inclusive research environment.
- Experience in preparing or contributing to research funding proposals is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to research integrity, ethical standards, and equality, diversity, and inclusion in the academic community.
