Research Fellow in Analytical Chemistry (Knowledge Transfer Partnership)

This post is fixed term for 12 months

Starting salary - £41,535 per annum

Location - Mast Group Ltd, Deeside and Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Research Fellow to join this Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Liverpool John Moores University and Mast Group Ltd, a leading manufacturer of clinical diagnostic products.

This project focuses on improving the stability and performance of antibiotics used in Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) diagnostics through the application of advanced analytical chemistry.

You will employ a range of state-of-the-art analytical techniques, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, to characterise host–guest interactions and quantify their effects on antibiotic stability. The project offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in both academic research and industrial product development, working closely with scientists at LJMU and Mast Group Ltd.
