Research Fellow in Phage Display and Molecular Biology

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly funded Innovate and Accelerate (IAA) project developing next-generation protein reagents for intracellular delivery in fungal pathogens. Working at the interface of protein engineering, molecular biology and biotechnology, the successful candidate will help develop and optimise Adhiron-based binders capable of actively entering fungal cells, with the long-term aim of delivering biologically active cargo for applications in crop protection. The project is delivered in partnership with Syngenta, providing opportunities to work closely with industrial scientists and gain experience of translational research within a commercial setting. The role will involve phage display, protein engineering, molecular cloning, protein production and characterisation, fluorescence microscopy and cell-based assays to identify and validate novel intracellular delivery reagents. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a strong background in molecular or cellular biology, protein science or a related discipline, who enjoys solving challenging biological problems and is keen to contribute to the translation of cutting-edge research towards real-world applications.
