Research Fellow Position at University of Southampton
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. The project will involve the development of an innovative new multiparametric sensor technology to monitor the microbial properties of cattle rumen. This sensor bolus will be manufactured and used to measure physical and chemical parameters in cattle, including methane emissions with the aim of developing greenhouse gas mitigations strategies.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications: PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in a relevant physical/engineering science.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of basic electronics.
- Experience in sensor design, fabrication, and testing would be desirable.
- Attributes:
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to organise own research activities effectively.
- Successful collaboration across disciplines.
- Good communicator.
- Ability to take the lead in preparing reports, presenting results to the consortium, and writing research papers.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Ability to organize time, tasks, and responsibilities with other team members.
