Research Fellow Position in Multiparametric Sensor Technology
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. The project will involve the development of an innovative new multiparametric sensor technology to monitor the microbial properties of cattle rumen. This sensor bolus will be manufactured and used to measure physical and chemical parameters in cattle, including methane emissions with the aim of developing greenhouse gas mitigation strategies.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in a relevant physical/engineering science. The candidate should possess knowledge of basic electronics, and experience in sensor design, fabrication, and testing would be desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop an innovative multiparametric sensor technology
- Measure physical and chemical parameters in cattle, including methane emissions
- Develop greenhouse gas mitigation strategies

Requirements
- PhD or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant physical/engineering science
- Knowledge of basic electronics
- Experience in sensor design, fabrication, and testing (desirable)
