Job Overview

Are you passionate about supporting high-quality clinical research? As a Research Governance Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in strengthening and enabling research across the Trust.

Working closely with senior research leaders and study delivery teams, you’ll provide essential administrative and governance support throughout the full lifecycle of research projects — from initial set-up through to close-down. Your work will help ensure studies are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), directly contributing to safe, ethical, and impactful research for patients and staff alike.

Main Duties of the Job

The Research Governance Administrator will provide vital administrative support to the Research Senior Management Team and study delivery teams, helping to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of research activity across the Trust. This includes undertaking a wide range of administrative and clerical duties, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all new and ongoing research studies, and acting as a key point of contact and champion for the Local Portfolio Management System (LPMS).

The post holder will also support research delivery teams by maintaining and managing departmental trackers that monitor progress against key tasks and milestones. This includes coordinating activities that involve key support services such as Pharmacy and Radiology, helping to ensure research studies progress efficiently and in line with agreed requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
