🌍 Opportunity: Climate & Sustainability Research Intern
M.C. Mehta Centre for Education and Research (MCMCER) | London / Hybrid
We are looking for a motivated student with an interest in sustainability, climate change, ESG or environmental policy to support MCMCER's work around our upcoming London Climate Resilience Roundtable.
The Roundtable will bring together stakeholders, practitioners and subject-matter experts to explore practical responses to extreme heat and climate adaptation, including the resilience of businesses, workplaces, buildings and infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to get involved in a live climate initiative and gain practical experience beyond the classroom.
What you'll be involved in:
- Researching climate resilience, extreme heat and adaptation issues affecting London and the UK
- Supporting stakeholder and sector research ahead of the Roundtable
- Helping analyse questionnaire and stakeholder data
- Identifying trends, themes and useful insights from research and data
- Supporting the development of briefing and research materials for the event
- Helping consolidate findings and evidence for our post-event report
- Working alongside the MCMCER team and sustainability subject-matter experts

Who we're looking for:
Ideally, you will be a current university student or recent graduate studying Sustainability, ESG, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Environmental Policy, Business Sustainability or a related subject. You don't need years of experience. We're looking for someone who is curious, comfortable working with information and data, can communicate findings clearly, and wants practical exposure to sustainability and climate-resilience work. The role would particularly suit someone looking to build experience in research, sustainability, ESG, climate policy, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Details:
- Location: London / Hybrid
- Duration: Fixed-term placement linked to the London Climate Resilience Roundtable
- Commitment: Part-time / flexible around university studies
- Remuneration: Unpaid placement, with agreed travel and reasonable work-related expenses covered by MCMCER
