Research Manager
This role is all about client retention and delivering the “So What” – ultimately helping our clients succeed, whether that’s through Mystery Shopping, Audits, or other Channel Performance offers.
As a Research Manager, you would be the lead contact for the day to day execution of a portfolio of client programmes, typically ranging in size from £100k to £700k. You will work as a conduit in the team, supporting the learning and growth of the team while helping the Directors and Team Lead achieve strategic objectives.
You will be joining a team dedicated to working across a variety of cross-sector clients including retail, hospitality and telecommunication. We provide crucial data and insights to our clients to manage, monitor and improve all aspects of customer experience and operational performance.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis with 3 days in our Milton Keynes/St Albans/London office and the rest from home.
Your Day to Day
These are the types of things you can expect to be doing during your day to day, although as Ipsos is a dynamic organisation, this may vary as different opportunities arise:
- Part of a highly skilled Client Success team whose primary responsibility is ensuring retention and client satisfaction across our clients.
- Responsible for ensuring that you are completing retain plans, managing programmes finances and operating as partners to your client contacts.
- Follow best practices across the team and identify where efficiencies and improvements in processes can be made.
- Gauge your client’s needs and work with the Client Success Director to ensure they are resourced correctly.
- Responsible for a portfolio, and its profitability, retention, and client satisfaction.
- Mentor or guide more junior members of the team to support their development, or the needs of their clients.
- Take an active stance in your personal development to ensure that you are continually improving your skill set.
- With the Head of Client Success and Client Success Directors, ensure QBR standards are being met and create ‘aha’ moments for clients beyond simple data provision.
- Model our Ipsos behaviours and inspire those around you to excel for our clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
