About The Role
This role has the following three primary components:
- Being the subject matter expert for Cost & Capital Analytics
- Alongside client-allocated Relationship teams, provide research and product expertise support for banks
- Support the development of Cost & Capital Analytics service line across our entire client base
Subject Matter Expert
- Lead end-to-end cost and capital benchmarking projects for banks, from scoping and data collection through analytics, insight generation, and executive readouts
- Own the design and maintenance of cost benchmarking taxonomies, ensuring consistent mapping between client general ledgers, management reporting structures and firm’s standard cost frameworks
- Review and challenge cost allocation methodologies (e.g. direct vs indirect, activity based allocations, central cost charges) to ensure benchmarking is like for like across banks and business lines
Cost and Capital Delivery
- Prepare analytics ready to present to clients in line with contractual remit and timeframes
- Work directly with MD/C suite stakeholders at global banks to socialize findings, and support decision making on cost reduction, capital allocation footprint, and product strategy
- Work closely with the Analytics center in Mumbai on execution of projects, provide direction on quantitative analysis, quality control and story-lining

Content and Analytics Development
- Contribute to firms’ new initiatives such as data product builds, automation of benchmarking processes, and the launch of new benchmarking modules (e.g., technology costs deep-dive)
- Collaborate with leadership to convert project learnings into thought-leadership pieces, playbooks and internal best-practice guides that strengthen the firm’s market positioning
- Support business development by shaping proposals, identifying cross sell opportunities, and representing the firm in client meetings, industry events, and webinars
Requirements
- 6-8 years’ experience in one or more of: banking strategy, finance/FP&A, cost transformation, or performance benchmarking
- Direct exposure to G SIB or large wholesale banks, e.g. working within a bank (strategy/finance/capital), a top tier consulting firm, or a specialized analytics/benchmarking provider
- Deep understanding of bank general ledger structures, cost centers and management reporting hierarchies, with prior hands-on experience working with GL data and cost reports
- Prior experience working on technology costs or productivity benchmarks (e.g., application, infrastructure, cloud or operations benchmarks is highly preferred
- Comfortable working with large, granular cost datasets (by account, cost center, function, location) and linking them to revenue, headcount and balance sheet metrics to derive unit cost and profitability measures.
- Proven track record leading multi stakeholder projects and presenting to senior banking executives (ExCo/MD/Head of Business level)
- Working understanding of banking regulation, including Basel 3, FRTB and Leverage Ratio regulation, as well as implication on the industry as a whole
- Ability to manage and guide a team of skilled staff located in India and London
- Proven ability to work as part of a team, building rapport with clients and colleagues
- Effective, sharp, clear and succinct communication skills, both verbal and written, and the confidence to have challenging dialogues with senior executives
- Academically the candidate is likely to be a graduate from a top University and will have studied finance and accounting in their chosen course of study
- Highly numerate and analytical, with strong attention to detail
- Highly proficient in all essential software applications – particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to develop, negotiate and manage assignments to completion
