FutureMeds is a network of modern dedicated research sites conducting clinical trials. We find eligible patients for trials across a wide variety of therapy areas, helping pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations to run clinical trials as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Our priority is the safety and health of our patients and by helping to bring them future medicines today we can play a key part in improving health.

Position Overview

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Nurse to join our experienced research nurse team in Newcastle. In this role, you will play a key part in the coordination and execution of clinical trials, ensuring they are conducted safely, ethically and efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nurse who is passionate about patient care and is keen to pursue a rewarding career in clinical research. This role is fully based on-site in our Newcastle clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screening of potential trial participants demonstrating knowledge of specific study protocols as required.
  • Perform study appointments and related procedures which typically include, vital signs, obtaining blood and urine samples, ECG recording, documenting medical history, administration of study medication (although this will vary per study).
  • Data entry and safety reporting.
  • Record keeping must be accurate and legible with great attention to detail.
  • Maintain up to date record of training.
  • Optimise participant retention by developing good rapport and displaying professionalism at all times.
  • Ensuring trial related nursing activities related to a wide range of therapeutic areas are undertaken in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct, company SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and GDPR compliant.
  • Ability to work under own initiative but always as part of the wider research team, maintaining good working relationships.

Qualifications and Skills

  • NMC registration with no limitations to practice (essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Previous clinical research experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT skills would be an advantage.
