About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to design, implement, and oversee the research programme of the Cambridge Compiler Lab in collaboration with the head of the research group and the entire research team. They will ensure that the research group defines clear and ambitious objectives and timelines, leading to research outputs with measurable impact for broader communities. Through the establishment of workflows, systems, collaborative workshops and strategy sessions, they will track progress and maintain accountability for shared research goals, facilitate research activity and productivity and ensure compliance with relevant policies.

The Programme Manager will develop and manage operational systems, collaborative workshops and strategy sessions to ensure active engagement of academic stakeholders, empowering them to contribute effectively to deliverables. They will foster innovative collaboration, building and sustaining relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, industry collaborators, policy makers, practitioners and community groups to drive the delivery of impactful outcomes, ensuring open communication and shared understanding.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, or possess a Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent experience. They will bring proven expertise in research administration, having previously established governance and monitoring systems that support high-performing research environments. Experience in financial oversight is essential, including budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and detailed reporting. Strong project management skills are crucial, with the ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate large-scale initiatives while managing multiple priorities to measurable outcomes. Proactivity, a keen problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently under pressure are key attributes for success in this role.

This post is available on a full-time basis; however, we are committed to supporting flexible working and will consider part-time applications from candidates able to work a minimum of 40% FTE.
