We are recruiting a Research Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in Berkshire. As the Research Scientist you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge therapeutic and tool antibody reagents, supporting projects from early-stage discovery through to late-stage pre-clinical evaluation. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with data-driven approaches to innovation, making it an exciting prospect for those who thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Research Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • As the Research Scientist you will develop, optimise, implement, and operate automated workflows for antibody expression, purification, pDNA production, and sample processing.
  • As the Research Scientist you will perform small-scale transient mammalian transfections and purify monoclonal antibodies using automated, high-throughput platforms.
  • As the Research Scientist you will troubleshoot expression, purification, automation, and quality-related issues, interpret data, and propose solutions.
  • As the Research Scientist you will support internal quality assessment of antibodies sourced from external vendors and communicate QC results to stakeholders.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Research Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Relevant degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Proven industry experience in cell culture, antibody expression, purification, or characterisation.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with protein biochemistry, purification techniques, and analytical methods.
