Role Description
The Research Scientist will work full time on-site in Greater London as part of the cardiac diagnostics team, designing and executing experiments involving mass spectrometry-based biomarker discovery and validation. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Planning and performing laboratory workflows

The role involves collaborating closely with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and external partners to refine biomarker panels for clinical and translational research applications. The Research Scientist will contribute to project documentation, prepare reports and publications, and present findings to internal teams and clients. The position also includes maintaining high standards of laboratory safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, with experience in mass spectrometry or omics technologies
- Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics desirable
- Skills in experimental design, sample preparation, and method optimization within proteomics, lipidomics, or metabolomics
- Competence in data analysis, statistical interpretation, and use of relevant software tools (e.g., R, Python, or specialized MS platforms)
- Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, communicate technical results clearly, and contribute to publications and project reports
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline essential; prior experience in translational research or biomarker discovery is highly beneficial
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to good laboratory practice, safety standards, and quality assurance
