Research Scientist – Implantable Biosensing Systems

We are seeking a Research Scientist with a strong background in the R&D of biosensing, implantable or in-vivo medical device technologies to help develop a next-generation, fully implantable system for continuous biomarker monitoring. Working across the complete system, you will investigate, model and prototype new technologies spanning mechanical systems, materials, electronics, energy and communications, solving complex multidisciplinary challenges that will shape the next generation of the device.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a scientifically rigorous and practically minded researcher who enjoys solving complex problems from first principles. Working within a multidisciplinary R&D team, you will combine theoretical modelling and simulation with hands-on experimentation and characterisation, developing proof-of-concept technologies and establishing how they will perform within a challenging biological environment. The role offers genuine scientific and engineering depth, with the opportunity to generate new ideas, develop intellectual property and contribute directly to an emerging healthcare technology.

The Company

We are an innovative healthcare technology company developing novel sensing platforms designed to generate continuous biological insight in an area of medicine that remains poorly understood. Our work combines advanced engineering, sensing technologies, materials science, embedded systems, and human physiology.

This is a highly collaborative R&D environment where scientists and engineers work across traditional discipline boundaries to investigate complex system-level challenges. The successful candidate will contribute directly to modelling activities, experimental investigations, prototype development, and technology evaluation work supporting the evolution of future platform technologies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
