Research Technician

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Technician. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to treating the autonomic neural pathobiology of a devastating early onset genetic urinary bladder disease within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing histology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and other experiments needed to evaluate the pathology and treatment in a mouse model of urofacial syndrome (UFS), to maintain the UFS mouse colony and have extensive knowledge and excellent technical skills in gene and protein expression analysis.

About You

We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of murine models of disease
  • Practical experience in histology, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry and working with viral vectors such as AAVs
  • Practical experience in project-specific laboratory techniques, such as whole tissue organ bath physiology techniques, such as myography

Desirable Criteria:

  • Practical experience of western blotting, microscopy, image analysis AND/OR physiology such as VSOP, cystometry, organ bath
  • Experience of Bladder dissection
