About AEONS
AEONS Labs develops and supports new ventures across emerging technology, financial infrastructure, and related fields. Its work also includes research on economics, markets, and the changing structure of capital. The Launch Engine brings together engineering, design, research, and distribution functions to take projects from research and validation through product development and launch.
The role
We are looking for a Research Writer & Copywriter with excellent written British English and strong research and editing skills. A central part of the role is producing economics and markets research articles: developing a question, working through primary and high-quality secondary sources, testing the argument, and writing a clear, properly supported article. The role also spans broader research publications, website and product copy, founder communications, launch materials, and selected social content. Candidates should be comfortable moving between economic, financial, and technical subjects while maintaining the same standard of sourcing and editorial judgment.
What you will work on
- Research economic, financial-market, and technical subjects using reliable primary and high-quality secondary sources.
- Develop research into economics and markets articles, structured briefs, memoranda, market commentary, website copy, and other published material.
- Write in clear, natural British English appropriate to the subject and audience.
- Explain economic and financial subjects — including macroeconomics, market structure, digital assets, and financial infrastructure — as well as blockchain, AI, and venture products accurately for the intended audience.
- Work with product, design, and growth teams on launch materials, website copy, and customer-facing communications.
- Edit founder and team drafts for argument, structure, tone, clarity, and factual accuracy.
- Maintain source notes and clearly distinguish verified facts from interpretation and opinion.
- Use AI-assisted tools where appropriate for research and drafting support, while retaining full editorial responsibility for the final work.

What we are looking for
- Excellent written English, with confident use of British spelling and UK editorial conventions.
- A portfolio that demonstrates analytical or research-led writing, preferably including economics, markets, policy, or finance, as well as concise copy.
- Strong research habits and the ability to verify claims before publication.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar subject matter quickly and explain it accurately at the appropriate level of detail.
- Ability to adjust tone appropriately across research, corporate, product, and public-facing formats.
- Comfort receiving detailed editorial feedback and rewriting substantially.
- Sound judgment on source quality, attribution, factual uncertainty, and the use of AI-assisted material.
- Comfort working remotely and asynchronously, with reliable overlap with UK/London working hours.

Useful, but not mandatory
- Experience in journalism, economics, or policy research, financial-market research, fintech, technology, venture capital, financial services, or a research-led agency.
- Familiarity with macroeconomics, financial markets, digital assets, blockchain, AI, climate/energy, or behavioural science.
- Experience writing for founders, research houses, institutional brands, or technically complex products.
- Experience with scripts, newsletters, editorial calendars, or publication workflows.
Relevant experience and portfolio evidence
A relevant degree can be useful but is not required. Applicants may demonstrate ability through professional work, independent publications, academic research, a newsletter, agency work, or a focused portfolio.
