We are looking for a Researcher to join our team as we continue to expand our work across the UK and internationally!
About Us
Tialt // There is an Alternative is a values-led research and evaluation company. We create trusting, critical spaces for arts and cultural organisations, conservation bodies, health and education providers, and funders to reflect on and harness the impact of their work.
By using creative, care-led and trauma-informed research methods that are informed by people's lived experience, we aim to flatten the traditional hierarchy between'researcher' and'researched', believing fundamentally in human connection and collaboration. We're a small team, and every person who joins us shapes how we work.
The Role
This is a remote role, suited to a researcher in the UK within easy reach of London and the South. We're looking for someone who, like us, believes in doing research differently, has a solid grounding in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and who enjoys designing creative, participatory tools. The right candidate will be someone who is as passionate about using research to drive meaningful, positive change as we are.

Role at a glance:
- Contract: Permanent - Part time
- Working Hours: 28 hours per week, flexible across 4 days
- Salary: £42,500 pro rata (salary will be 0.8 of a 35 hour working week inclusive of home working allowance)
- Pension: 5% employer contribution
- Location: This is a remote-working role, and applicants must be based in the UK. The role involves occasional travel for project visits, particularly to the South of England, so you should be able to travel there reasonably easily when required. There will also be some travel elsewhere in the UK and internationally, including attendance at team residencies in the UK and EU approximately 3–4 times per year.
- Holiday: 31 days pro-rata (including statutory public holidays). Additional paid leave between 24th December – 2nd January and for one-week summer company closure, plus your Birthday.
- Start Date: Flexible based on individual circumstance
