Reservations Agent Opportunity at Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Reservations Agent to join the Sandman Hotel Group UK & Ireland ahead of our new 4-star Sandman Signature Glasgow Hotel scheduled to open in the Spring of 2023.

Job Duties

  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from clients, business partners, and other parties.
  • Prepare all necessary forecasts; work closely with Front Office and Sales to maximize occupancy, rate, and revenue.
  • Group Management; securing method of payment, building rooming list, confirming meals, baggage, any special requests, monitoring cancelation and release dates.
  • Cover breaks at the front desk - responsible for checking guests in and out of the Hotel, issue room keys, pamphlets, discount cards, etc. and answer various questions from guests and arrange transportation for guests.
  • Review updated in-house, arrival, and room status reports - verify room types, upgrade VIPs, maximize revenue base rooms.
  • FIT allotment check and blackout dates.
  • Rate shops - focus on compression dates.
  • Sales group review and 10-day group forecast.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations or hotel management preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Maestro software packages.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others.
