We are working with a specialty insurer who are looking to appoint an experienced Reserving Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Reserving, you’ll provide expert actuarial advice across quarterly reserving, business planning and portfolio analysis. You’ll work closely with underwriting, claims and finance teams, acting as a trusted advisor and providing insight to support key business decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality reserving advice, business planning and portfolio deep dives.
- Forecasting technical provisions, reserve margins and uncertainty.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior business stakeholders.
- Leading, coaching and developing actuarial team members.
- Ensuring robust governance, technical standards and regulatory compliance.
- Driving improvements across models, processes, systems and ways of working.
- Identifying key areas of uncertainty and providing clear, commercially focused insight.
- Managing delivery against agreed timelines and taking ownership of key outputs.

About you
You’ll be an experienced actuary with a strong background in General Insurance, ideally gained within a multinational financial services environment. You’ll combine strong technical expertise with the confidence and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and lead others.

You’ll ideally bring:
- Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent).
- Significant actuarial reserving experience within London Market or General Insurance.
- Strong analytical, numerical and data interpretation skills.
- Advanced Excel and modelling capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Proven experience leading, coaching or developing actuarial professionals.
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach to challenging and improving existing processes.
