Resettlement Accommodation Manager
We have an exciting job opportunity for the position of Resettlement Accommodation Manager.
You will have overall operational management responsibility for Union Terrace and Robinson Court supported accommodation schemes and working within the CYC Housing Options and Support Service. We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic person to provide high quality support to all customers and staff living and working in the supported accommodation schemes.
Union Terrace (Males) and Robinson Court (Females) are resettlement supported accommodations for single homeless people/rough sleepers and childless couples (primarily adult males and females aged 18+) providing accommodation and support with a view to helping people move on into more independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
- Responsibilities:
- Develop high quality services to rough sleepers and resettlement customers.
- Work with the Housing Options and Support Team Service Manager to manage and lead the staff team within both services along with the accommodation supervisors within each service to deliver the support and accommodation.
- Play a key role in coordination of the monitoring, review, and updates associated with policy and protocol.
- Collaborate with key officers/partners from across the council, housing services partners, support providers, customer service representatives, and senior managers to monitor policy and ensure consistency of approach in the two accommodation services, to ensure things are within the context of CYC's key objectives and values.
- Work with partner agencies to deliver the Homelessness Strategy Action Plan and be a Key partner with Community Safety in respect of addressing begging and street anti-social behaviour.
- Represent CYC at conferences, meetings, forums, and via CYC Communication Team to respond to media/public enquiries, etc.
- Work on your own initiative under the guidance of the service manager.

- Requirements:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of the issues people have faced when they became homeless and/or while they were rough sleeping.
- Experience of management of supported accommodation and working with homeless people.
- Understanding of the issues surrounding the client groups.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations in the context of supported housing.
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of housing IT systems.
- Working knowledge of housing law and practice and relevant social care legislation as it relates to housing.
- Experience of delivering a customer-centred service.
- Competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1.
