Serene Sparks LTD is a supported accommodation provider in Leicester, dedicated to creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments for young people aged 16 and over. The organization works in partnership with local authorities, social workers, referral agencies, and commissioning teams to support young people as they move toward independent adult life. Its services include supported accommodation, independence and life skills support, education and employment guidance, emotional wellbeing support, and safeguarding and behavior support. Serene Sparks focuses on person-centered care, helping young people build confidence, develop essential life skills, and achieve positive future outcomes within a safeguarded environment. The team is committed to promoting well-being, personal development, and independence through structured support and guidance.
Role Description
The Residential Support Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Leicester, providing day-to-day support to young people living in supported accommodation. The role involves promoting independence by helping residents develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, self-care, and managing appointments. The Residential Support Worker will offer emotional support, encourage engagement in education, training, or employment, and assist with creating and following individual support plans.

Responsibilities

- Monitoring wellbeing and safety
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Liaising with external professionals and agencies
- Supporting safeguarding practices in line with organizational policies
- Participation in house meetings
- Managing routine tasks within the accommodation
- Contributing to a positive, respectful, and inclusive living environment
Qualifications
- Experience in residential care, supported accommodation, or youth work, with skills in providing practical and emotional support to young people.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, risk assessment, and behavior support within a care or social support setting.
- Strong communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with young people and external professionals.
- Organizational and record-keeping skills, including the ability to document support plans, incidents, and progress accurately.
- Ability to promote independence, teach basic life skills, and encourage participation in education, training, or employment.
- Resilience, patience, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, in line with the needs of the service.
- Relevant qualification in social care, youth work, or a related field (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential; ongoing training and development will be supported.
