About the Role
As Resident Medical Officer, you’ll play a crucial role providing On Call cover for Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital. This is our 47-bed emergency mental health hospital in Coventry. The service supports adults across three wards to move as quickly and safely as possible to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them.
Our model of care promotes a collaborative approach whereby family, service users, commissioners and carers are all involved in the rehabilitation and recovery of the individual.
The postholder will be covering On Calls between 5:00pm and 9:00am on weekdays & 9:00am and 9:00am on weekends and work on a rota of 4 days on / 3 days off every week. Advice and guidance is available from the Consultants On Call and weekly supervision will be offered within the above hours.

About You
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is…
- Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement, the ability to manage risk & know when to ask for help
- Preferably experienced in Psychiatry
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
- Committed to continued professional development
