Cromwell Hospital, London, SW5 0TU

Salary: £85,000 a year – full time equivalent

Shift Pattern:

37.5 hours a week

Monday to Friday

The post holder will work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm on the Oncology Ward with a second RMO

Our oncology centre provides highly innovative treatment for patients with cancer. Through partnership with Genesis Care (our partners in radiotherapy), the post holder will have the opportunity to work with internationally renowned oncologists. A multidisciplinary approach is adopted to ensure best practice and to deliver the best treatment option for the individual patient.

The centre consists of a chemotherapy day unit, radiotherapy department and a 29-bedded inpatient ward (including 2 radioiodine suites) with close links to our palliative care service. We also run an Acute Oncology Service and a Chemotherapy Day Unit.

Our aim is to provide high-quality treatment for cancer patients from the UK and abroad in line with best clinical practice and within a legal framework.

Cromwell Hospital is home to world renowned private Oncologists, based in London, specialising in many tumour types. The post holder will work together with specialist nurses and technicians, and private oncologists as part of a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. It is essential that the post holder has a good knowledge of dealing with medical emergencies and is able to recognize and escalate complications following Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy and has a low threshold for escalating to the oncology consultant in charge of the patient.

You Will Be Expected To:

  • Conduct a daily ward round in collaboration with the nurse in charge, for all patients that have not already been seen by a consultant.
  • Complete any jobs at the request of the consultant.
  • Be the first point of contact for consultants and nursing staff caring for oncology patients.
  • Clerk patients admitted under an oncologist
  • Work closely as a team with the other RMOs (cardiology/medicine, surgery and ITU), asking for assistance where necessary.
  • Effectively hand-over with Resident Doctors at the end of shift, particularly regarding those patients giving cause for concern.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
