Making sure that we involve our residents in improving our services and promote strong, sustainable communities is paramount. We have recently remodelled our resident participation service to match our aspirations and are now looking for enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to join our new team.
Role: Resident Participation and Inclusion Officer
As a Resident Participation and Inclusion Officer you will play a lead role in supporting Hackney’s involved residents, including tenant and resident associations (TRAs), estate- based gardening groups and specialist forums.
Responsibilities
- Help to ensure effective governance and financial management of our registered groups
- Develop online information and guidance
- Promote the development of new groups
Ideal Candidate
- A real passion for promoting the inclusion of Hackney’s diverse communities and be committed to resident empowerment
- Experience of working with residents successfully to promote participation and engagement, preferably in a housing environment
- Good understanding of resident participation principles and practice
- Experience of developing and implementing good community governance
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills
- A ‘can-do’ attitude, able to drive forward service improvements and innovation
- Successfully worked on a cross- departmental basis and / or with community networks
