Location
Hertford, SG14 1DX (Hybrid)
Salary
£40,000 to £60,000 plus depending on experience, plus £3,500 car allowance and fuel card
A well established and reputable firm of Chartered Surveyors is looking for two Residential Building Surveyors to join their growing team — one at junior level and one at senior level. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality, client focused surveying services across London and the surrounding counties, and these are genuine opportunities to join a professional, supportive team with real flexibility built into the working model.
The role is hybrid. Survey work is carried out on site across London and the surrounding counties, with report writing and administration completed from home. Surveyors come into the Hertfordshire office around once a week to maintain face to face contact with the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
