At Osmington House, we provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing home for children and young people. We are looking for kind, resilient, and child-focused individuals to join us as Residential Child Care Workers.

You don’t need previous experience — just the right attitude. We will train, coach, and support you every step of the way, following our trauma-informed, therapeutic model to help transform children’s lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same. You will support children to grow, learn, and have fun through activities such as:

  • Kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, skating, and beach adventures
  • Forest walks, movie nights, and even camping in the garden
  • Supporting children to make positive choices and develop independence
  • Being a dependable role model they can trust
  • Helping with everyday tasks including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a homely environment
  • Learning new skills such as nutritional meal planning, safeguarding, first aid, and more
  • Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare through a fully funded apprenticeship
  • Exploring clear, structured career pathways within Five Rivers

Hours

On average, 39 hours a week for full time.

Part of the role involves some overnight stays in the home. You will need to do between 2 and 3 of these ‘sleep-ins’ per week, so the salary advertised includes the payment for an average of 8 sleep-ins per month. For each sleep-in you receive an additional £50 per night. The salary advertised is based on completing 2 sleep-ins per week.

  • Ability to have fun and understand the importance of play
  • Ideally a full driving licence
  • You must be over 19 years old
