I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are happy to provide further training for conveyancers who are not fully trained on all aspects of residential conveyancing.

As mentioned, you will receive legal assistance as required and should be comfortable working with a volume caseload. We also have a post-completions team who submit all SDLT returns and submit the application for registration.

The company is both employee and customer focused and provides an environment that rewards performance in achieving those goals.

A major benefit is that our work is sourced independently and is therefore not reliant on receiving new instructions from third parties which allows our lawyers to remain focused on the customer as opposed to needing to focus on third parties.

The Candidate

You should be a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual that is driven to succeed with previous experience in a similar role handling a volume residential conveyancing caseload.

Although not essential, a CLC/CILEX/SRA qualification would be a benefit.
