Role Description

The Residential Conveyancer will manage a caseload of freehold and leasehold residential property transactions from instruction to completion in a full-time, on-site role based in Darlington.

  • Taking client instructions
  • Advising on legal issues
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents
  • Handling searches, enquiries, and reports

The role involves liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors to progress matters efficiently, ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met. The Residential Conveyancer will also oversee exchange and completion processes, maintain accurate file records, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal procedures and client service standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law and practical experience with residential conveyancing matters.
  • Skills in Legal Consulting, including advising clients clearly on legal risks and options.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, such as contracts, transfer deeds, and reports on title.
  • Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and manage Legal Issues throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Previous experience handling a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Familiarity with conveyancing case management systems and standard property searches.
  • Relevant legal qualification (e.g., Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.
