Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Residential Conveyancer role based in New Milton.

Job Description

The Residential Conveyancer will manage a caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to completion, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on legal issues relating to property, preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documentation, conducting title checks and searches, liaising with lenders, estate agents, and other solicitors, and ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met. The role also involves maintaining accurate file records, managing deadlines, updating clients regularly, and supporting colleagues to deliver a high-quality, efficient conveyancing service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Undertake all aspects of residential conveyancing and property work, both leasehold and freehold sales and purchases.
  • Experience of commercial property would be an advantage though not necessary.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Positive and friendly manner and present a smart and professional appearance.
  • Capability of networking and building strong relationships with local estate agents.

Qualifications

  • Solicitor
  • Legal Executive
  • Licensed Conveyancer
  • 3 years PQE

Knowledge

All aspects of residential conveyancing

Skills/abilities/competencies

  • Strong foundation in property Law and experience handling Residential Conveyancer matters.
  • Proven ability in Legal Consulting, providing clear, practical advice on a range of Legal Issues.
  • Experience with Legal Document Preparation, including contracts, reports on title, and completion documentation.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in plain English and build positive client relationships.
  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive, with relevant practicing certificates.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within conveyancing, including AML and CQS standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
