Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer
Location: Port Talbot
Salary: From £34,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Contract: Permanent, following a 5-month probationary period
The Opportunity
TSR Legal are currently working with a well-established law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join its growing residential property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and client-focused conveyancer who is looking to join a supportive team and take responsibility for their own caseload, handling matters from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.
The Role
You will manage your own residential conveyancing caseload, dealing with a broad range of property matters including:
- Sales and purchases
- New-build transactions
- Remortgages
- Taking initial client instructions and providing clear cost quotations
- Preparing and issuing contract packs
- Applying for searches and obtaining redemption statements
- Preparing files for completion and ensuring all parties are kept updated
- Liaising with clients, lenders, agents and other third parties throughout transactions
- Completing all necessary post-completion work
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with the firm's procedures and best practice
- Keeping up to date with developments in residential property law and relevant regulations

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' proven experience working within residential conveyancing
- CQS accreditation
- The ability to manage a caseload independently while also working effectively as part of a wider team
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- A positive, professional and friendly approach
- Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and case management systems
- A good understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements, including the SRA or CLC Code of Conduct
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, mortgage fraud and counter-terrorism regulations
- A good understanding of CQS requirements and best practice
