This is an exciting opportunity to join the friendly and hardworking Residential Services team at Manchester Met within the Commercial Services department (Accommodation, Catering, and Conferences) on their journey to become the best Facilities department in the sector and support the University's ambitions of becoming the best modern University in the UK.

About The Role

Our Residential Customer Service Advisor (CSA) team, provide a warm and professional service to residents, contractors, staff, and other visitors to the receptions we operate from within our Halls of Residence. The role of the CSA is varied, duties you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Processing post and packages delivered for our residents
  • Responding to email requests
  • Taking telephone calls
  • Serving customers at our front desks.

In addition you'll get out and about; delivering small items of post to the halls, helping residents who have locked themselves out, checking on maintenance issues, undertaking inspections, quality checking work, and much more.

The work the Residential Services Team collectively undertake is both planned and reactive, meaning any two days are rarely the same.

The post holder will work flexibly as part of the Residential Team assisting and undertaking various accommodation and health and safety related inspections required within our Halls of Residence, in compliance with the UUK code, MMU procedures and practices, and Health & Safety Regulations. The post holder will help deliver a high quality customer focused service, supporting other functions within the Residential Services department as required.

Outside of term time, we work much more operationally over the busy summer months serving conferencing delegates, summer stay students, and other guests who occupy our accommodation over the summer months, in addition to pulling together to work methodically and efficiently to prepare our halls for the next intake of student residents. A busy and fairly physical period of work, that enables us to create a great first impression for new residents and to ensure their tenancies get off to the best start possible.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
