A Day In The Life Of a Deputy Manager
- Lead, support and mentor colleagues through their supervisions, 1-2-1s and team meetings.
- Welcome and onboard new starters, ensuring they understand the role and are equipped to deliver high quality support.
- Be approachable and available to your team, with an open door approach to support.
- Completing audits and spot checks to maintain high standards across the service.
- Maintaining care and support plans are consistent and up to date.
- Deputise in the absence of the registered manager.
- Ensuring the service operates to budget.
- Setting objectives which are clear, aspirational and achievable for our colleagues and people we support.
- Provide on call support to colleagues on a rota basis.

Our Ideal Candidate Would Have
- A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, with a willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities, including behaviours that may challenge.
- A reliable and committed approach, with a genuine passion for delivering high quality, person-centred support.
- A good understanding of CQC regulations and requirements within a residential care setting, with previous experience of CQC inspections.
- Experience supporting or preparing for Local Authority monitoring inspections.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and report writing skills.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends, in line with the needs of the service.
- Experience of arranging and attending annual care reviews as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), ensuring the views and aspirations of the people we support remain at the heart of the process.
- Experience of regularly reviewing support plans and risk assessments, ensuring they remain accurate, person-centred and aligned with Local Authority expectations.
